2021 OAU AGM

The 2021 Optometrists Association of Uganda AGM and Scientific Conference was held today 21st November, 2021 at Kampala Kolping Hotel.

The event was graced by among others, founding members of the Optometrists Association of Uganda, Mr. Anguyo Dralega and Dr. Naomi Nsubuga.

Also in attendance were representatives of: the Uganda Allied Health Professionals Council, Mulago Hospital, Kampala Eye and LASIK Center, City Optics, among others.

Optometry students from Makerere University under their umbrella association, Makerere University Optometry Students Association (MUOSA) were also in full attendance.

The event featured great speeches from the dignitaries, with each emphasizing the importance of unity and teamwork in eye care, noting that no single professional is adequate to solve all patient needs singly.

The Scientific Conference featured presentations from Optometry students, Optometrists and various ophthalmologists.

Finally, the Optometrists Association of Uganda and Makerere University Optometry Students Association performed their handover ceremonies, with optometrist Wanok Godfrey assuming the presidency of the OAU.
